Thanks to NSW Office of Sport’s 'Her Sport Her Way' program, Warringah has been able to organise four women's-only, beginner-friendly events which emphasise ‘Finish Lines, Not Finish Times’. Details below!
Nicole Ward’s Transition Secrets Clinic – 7th November, 9am - Free Ex-pro athlete Nicole Ward (Ward Coaching) has had an extensive and successful career as a professional triathlete, which means she has her transitions down to a fine art. In this clinic Nic will take you through how to optimise your T1 and T2, including transition area setup, bike mount and dismount, and other tips and tricks. The clinic starts at 9am at Yulong Avenue in Terrey Hills, and you’ll need your bike, helmet, running shoes and a towel. Registration is required, and you can do that here. North Head Course Familiarisation and Swim – 21st November, 2pm - Free Our Race Director Deanna Waters knows the North Head course inside and out, and in this session she’ll take you through the course and answer any questions you might have about participating in our club races. This will be followed with a group swim down at Collins Beach, to give you the opportunity to meet other female Warringah Triathlon Club members, and make sure you’re confident and calm heading into the swim the next morning. Meeting place is the carpark opposite Bella Vista Cafe at North Head at 2pm. Registration is required, and you can do that here. Women’s Only Waves: LJ Hooker Triathlon (22nd November) and Catfish Designs Triathlon (13th December) - $10 For only $10, you can compete in a women’s only wave on the short course of our first Triathlon club race, with all proceeds donated to the Northern Beaches Women's Shelter. The women’s only wave will begin the course 10 minutes before the rest of the pack. You can register for the November race here, and the December race here. During registration, make sure you select the ‘Her Sport Her Way - Female Promotional Wave’ option.

I am particularly interested in the transition session. All would be an advantage, but understand would not be able to do all. Thank you

Thank you for sharing this exciting news about the 'Her Sport Her Way' program organized by the NSW Office of Sport. It's great to see the Warringah Triathlon Club offering women's-only, beginner-friendly events that promote finishing lines rather than finishing times. The clinic by ex-pro athlete Nicole Ward on optimising transitions, the North Head course familiarisation and swim, and the women's-only waves in November and December all sound like fantastic opportunities for women to get involved in triathlon and meet other female members of the club. It's also wonderful that proceeds from the events will be donated to the Northern Beaches Women's Shelter.
